DSL or digital subscriber line is a type of internet connection wherein it passes through regular phone lines. With DSL internet connection, you may be required to avail phone line service because you will need this for your internet connection. But unlike a dial-up connection (which also uses phone line as its main mode of data transmission), DSL connection uses a modern technology especially in the transmission of data. DSL is also one of the most economical internet connections nowadays.
Another type is wireless internet service. Wireless internet service usually uses a satellite dish in transmitting data. Wireless internet is slightly more expensive than DSL because of the equipment involved such as the satellite dish itself. But in terms of speed, DSL and wireless internet connections actually are just the same.
